I have a 15-pound Jack Russell / Chihuahua mix who, ahem, problems and a nose was definitely a necessary investment. It is not bitey but growly and keeps people from bothering her in the first place.
I had to shorten the straps and seal the edges with a lighter, just because my dog has a small head and did not like the long strap ends flapping around, but this is the only we need to do to make it fit.
I tip better than the “party hats” (cloth blowing) my vet uses – I think they are even less likely to bite wearing one because it seems damn near impossible to get. It’s lightweight, easy breathing, and able to drink more water, breathe freely, etc., while wearing what I think a lot less traumatic. When I was getting used to, I put a small piece of peanut butter at the end of Section nose inside, and keep your nose really pop off all by herself and walk around with a balanced nose, while she tries to snarf up all the peanut butter!
