Whatever you choose you need to get a set of plans that not only list all the materials you will need but plans that have a section with cut sizes for all your wood pieces. •    If you want to find free large dog house plans on the Internet I’m sure they are available but you may get what you don’t pay for. Spending a few bucks on a good set of plans designed by a professional will save you time, money and grief. Your dog will be a lot happier as well. •    One thing to always remember is if your dog chews on furniture he will chew on his doghouse. Do not use pressure treated wood in areas he can get hold of. Pressure treated lumber is injected with dangerous chemicals to stop rot and insect damage by killing the intruder!•    Use only natural wood then seal with a good quality primer and outdoor paint that is not toxic. Remember that any damaged areas will need to be repainted before moisture damage to the wood occurs the wood. •    It is important to understand that the larger you build the dog house the harder it will be to keep warm with the dog’s body heat.
